When I engage for services, am I in a contract with you?
Yes. When you register with us for our services, you will need to sign a contract which clearly states our obligations and yours.
Lessons will not commence, until we have received a signed copy of the contract.
How long are the lessons?
The 1:1 lessons are planned for 60 minutes in duration and the tutor will provide feedback to you after the lesson has completed.
The 11 Plus group sessions are usually planned for 2 hours, and it is advisable that the student brings some light refreshments with them.
How much are the lessons?
Please visit our Fees page for more information.
How do I pay for lessons?
Once you are registered, you have access to our Parent Portal where you can manage your account online, view your lesson schedule, contact your tutor and be able to pay for lessons via your credit or debit card.
All payments must be made via the Parent Portal in order for your account to be accurate.
All payments online are handled securely via our card merchant, Stripe.
We are unable to allow Bank Transfer payments as a method of payment at this time.
Do I have to block book lessons?
Yes, lessons need to booked in blocks of 6.
Why are all the lessons online?
Just like our face-to-face tutoring, our online tuition is of the highest caliber.
Our experienced, well-trained, and DBS-certified tutors tailor the program to the specific needs of each individual student.
They are dedicated to addressing any gaps or areas of difficulty the student may have.
Our online tutoring sessions often feature additional features that enhance the learning experience.
These include the ability to share screens or files, allowing both the tutor and the tutee to be “on the same page.”
Quick snapshot tools also enable the highlighting and sharing of specific aspects through the chat function, further facilitating the learning process.
By combining our high-quality tutors, personalised approach, and collaborative learning tools, Shropshire Tutor’s online tuition provides a seamless and effective learning experience for students, even in the face of changing educational landscapes.
Can I get the lessons cheaper if they are online?
Our online lessons provide the same experience as if they were being led face to face.
The tutors are of the highest calibre and this is reflected in the price of the lessons.
We do not offer reduced fees or discounts for having your lessons online.
Can I cancel lessons?
If you have booked a lesson and need to re-arrange it, then all you need to do is to info your allocated Tutor giving as much notice as possible, but a minimum of 24 hours, otherwise you will be charged for the lesson.
If you wish to leave Shropshire Tutor completly, and have lessons pre-booked, then we have a 30-day cancellation policy, where you need to provide our admin office written notice of your intent to leave.
This can be done by simply sending us an email to adele.conlon@shropshiretutor.co.uk
